Hi, I am Andrew

For years, I had been known as the “wedding Swiss Army knife” with my friends and family.

With experience in photography, event planning, project management, audio/visual, and as a musician, I was always ready to help a Bride and Groom in any way that I could. For one of my best friend’s weddings, I photographed the rehearsal dinner, set up the decorations, played guitar during the ceremony, prepped and sent the toddler flower girls and ring bearer down the aisle, and then played the role of DJ during the reception, and then photographed the bride and groom’s exit! Afterwards, I realized how much I truly loved participating in weddings and began to get even more requests to help other’s capture their wedding day.

You know the amazing feeling you get when you cook a delicious meal and the person for whom you made it can’t stop raving about it? That is how I feel when I deliver a gallery to a bride, that is how I feel when I go to a friend’s house and a portrait I took of their family is hanging on the wall, that is how I feel when I receive a Christmas card with one of my photos on it (although I’m pretty good in the kitchen too).

If you are looking for a genuine creative partner that is with you every step of the way, someone who will not only capture how your day looked, but how it felt.

Testimonials

“Andrew was the best photographer! I cannot say enough. Very artistic in capturing the moment and wonderful family memories. The pictures say it all. He went above and beyond with the wedding party by helping navigate the confusing wedding elements, problem solve, and celebrate. Such a fun guy to lightheartedly calm nerves and help coach through new waters. So much more than a photographer, just the nicest family guy with a big heart. He really played a huge role in making our wedding such a huge success.”

“Andrew turned our wedding into a cinematic fairytale. His charming personality put us at ease and made us feel incredibly comfortable in front of the camera. We were able to be our authentic selves and let him capture our personalities. He also quickly connected with all of our guests and captured their joy and beauty. Last but not least he turned around all photos in less than two days! We are so grateful to Andrew for making our wedding weekend magical!”

“Love the pics! The best photographer ever!”

For the gear nerds out there, here's what I use:

Nikon Z6

The artistic workhorse. The Nikon Z6 is my main camera body and is perfect for weddings, events, and portraits because it can use all Nikon F mount lenses with an adapter, but also is able to use the newer, high-tech Z lenses with extremely fast focus and amazing bokeh. The LED screen is so effective that I am able to know exactly what a photo is going to look like before I take it, which helps drastically reduce editing time.

Lenses:

  • Sigma 35mm 1.4
  • Sigma 50mm 1.4
  • Nikon Z 85mm 1.8

Pentax 645

The Pentax 645 is a medium format camera that has a larger sensor than traditional digital and 35mm cameras, which allows for a higher resolution, due to the larger film size, as well as a larger depth of field. Think about it like comparing an IMAX screen to a regular movie screen.

Lens:

  • Pentax 75mm 2.8

Favorite 120 Film Stocks:

  • Kodak Portra 400
  • Cinestill 800T
  • Ilford Delta 3200

Canon AE-1 Program

The Canon AE-1 Program was one of the most popular cameras in the 80's and was passed down to me by my in-laws. This camera was used to take photos of their family since my wife was born until they upgraded to a digital camera in the early 2000s. The image quality is still fantastic, although the body is in rough shape (and held together by duck tape in a few places). It also has a very cool lens cap cover from the 1984 Olympics.

Lens:

  • Canon 50mm 1.8

Favorite 35mm Film Stocks:

  • Kodak Ektar 100
  • Kodak Porta 400
  • Kodak TMAX 400
  • Cinestill 800T

Kodak HD Power Flash

Turns out those disposable cameras that we grew up with still take great photos! They aren't as cheap as they used to be but my brides always love the results and the nostalgia! For every wedding, I will give one to the maid of honor for her to use (a big responsibility) and I keep one in my bag to use during the reception.

Nikon D5200

My first "real" camera that I bought to go on our honeymoon to Italy in 2014, the Nikon D5200, is primarily a secondary camera, but can still produce great results. Some of my all-time favorite photos have been taken with this camera and it just proves that art is not dependent on the instrument.
